All About Anne

Originally from England where she worked as a lawyer, Anne arrived in New York in 2000 with a sense of excitement for the new possibilities that lay ahead. After a year, she decided to stay in the US and qualify as an attorney. With a B.A. In Psychology (University of Liverpool, 1990), Anne took two years of night school classes at New York Law School to qualify her to take the NYS Bar Exam. She passed the NY Bar, and in 2007 she set up her own solo law practice specializing in employment discrimination law. In 2020, Anne became a Certified Coach.

As a coach, Anne was drawn to helping people with their executive functioning skills after going through the lengthy process of trying to get her son assessed and diagnosed with as Neurodiverse (ADHD Inattentive Type). Her compassion and empathy were informed by her study of behavioral and social Psychology, and through her work as a civil rights lawyer, fighting for justice on behalf of those who have suffered discrimination, including discrimination because of a disability. As a lawyer, Anne understands the need to have strong executive skills, including organization, preparation, timekeeping and adhering to deadlines. As a litigator, she is able to communicate effectively and draw people to her side. Anne has a particular interest in the effects of ADHD on the family, including the parent/child relationship and the relationship between ADHD and Non-ADHD life partners.

What makes Anne unique is that she is a lifelong learner and an adventurer. Anne took a standup comedy course at the age of 49 and performed in NYC. She continues with this creative spark, and now writes flash fiction, and is working on a novel about a middle age and menopausal lady detective. Anne is energetic and open-minded and loves to travel when she can. This year she traveled with her son to Bogota and Berlin, for the joy of experiencing diverse cultures. She is loving and compassionate, and since 2014 she has been the President of the Alpha Ujuvi Collective, a Congolese 501c3 non-profit, which provides shelter and education to female victims of the civil war. She loves literature, theatre and poetry, and from 2001-2014, she was a volunteer poetry teacher to senior citizens on the Lower East Side.
